Hello All,

The Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute has had students from China, Colombia, Germany, Puerto Rico, Russia, and across the US.  We are looking forward to meeting all of you.

Airport:

We are happy to pick you up and take you to and from the airport if you need that service.  Regardless of whether or not you need our service, we would appreciate knowing your arrival and departure schedules.

Check-in and Housing:

Check-in is June 12, 2022, from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at Methodist Hall.  If you will be arriving later, please let us know, and we will check you in as you arrive.  The dorms have double and quad rooms. Each person will have their own personal room, with a shared living space. If you are in a double, you will have your own bathroom; if you are in a quad, you will share a bathroom with one other person. Linens will be provided, with the exception of a pillow. Please bring your own toiletries.

High school students will be assigned a "Dorm Parent" and a curfew will be in place.  We will be glad to take students to purchase things they forget or end up needing throughout the week.

OCU Dorm Lodging: 10 nights, bedding/towels included. Pillow not included. $300

OCU Dining Meal Plan: NOT included in lodging; includes breakfast/lunch/dinner. $270

*Dining options surrounding the university are also available

Alvins Café – on campus dining 10am-3pm M-Th

Dining Hall (Meal Plan) – Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner – $270

This optional plan should be paid for in advance.

Students should bring extra funds to eat out occasionally.

Hotel Accommodation Options: The Institute will send you a link to book your hotel room through our preferred hotel upon acceptance. Travel between the hotel and school will not be provided.

Schedule:

Students get a private lesson every other day on an AB schedule.  Masterclasses happen almost every day.  Ensemble rehearsal meets at 9am every morning.  More detail on the Institute schedule page.

Preparation:

My advice is to bring pieces of music at various stages of development.  You can learn a great deal by seeing how the Romeros go about working on a piece from the beginning to performance.

Teacher Assignments:

An itinerary will be given to students upon arrival, including their time slot.

Performance attire:

Student concerts are flexible.  Just dress professional.  If in doubt, wear all black.

All black for June 5th.  For guys… PLEASE wear long black socks and dress shoes.  For gals, pants or long dresses.

Check out:

Students should be checked out by June 20th, 2022 by 11am.  Rooms must be clean at departure.
